One night while out on duty, Chicago police officer Sharon Pogue (Jennifer Lopez) is saved from a potentially fatal attack by a mysterious and beneficent stranger called Catch (Jim Caviezel). Following this, the pair meet again and soon become romantically involved. But Sharon still keeps a part of herself guarded, and Catch also has a secret past which remains shrouded in darkness. Will they together be able to find the strength to overcome their fears and conquer the ghosts which haunt them?
